TS-Associates, leaders in Precision Instrumentation of electronic trading systems, and developers of TipOff® and Application Tap®, today announced the availability of ultra high bandwidth TipOff appliances supporting 12x1GE, 8x10GE and 2x40GE capture ports, all in a 2U form factor. This announcement reaffirms TS-Associates’ commitment to track the very latest hardware developments and integrate the highest performance technology into the TS-Associates Precision Instrumentation® product range. Henry Young, TS-Associates CEO, says, “By offering this unprecedented port density and high bandwidth capture capability, we are extending the TipOff G5 product range at the high end to support our customers’ most demanding requirements. But this is as far as we’ll be able to take the fifth generation of TipOff. Support for 100GE will require TipOff G6, which we’ve started planning already.” Steve Rodgers, TS-Associates CTO, says, “The increased port density offers better value by reducing the number of TipOff appliances required for small-scale deployments and removing the necessity for tap aggregation devices in mid-scale deployments. It also improves precision by reducing the number of separate hardware clocks that need to be synchronized.” The addition of support for 40GE gives TipOff a further option for InfiniBand QDR and FDR monitoring by leveraging the latest InfiniBand switches which have the capability to copy InfiniBand traffic to 40GE mirror ports using Ethernet frame encapsulation. TipOff’s existing InfiniBand monitoring options have been based on Application Tap enabled device driver instrumentation. This new capability enriches TipOff’s repertoire of InfiniBand monitoring options to encompass support for both push and pull RDMA messaging semantics. The new TipOff G5 capture options are immediately available. About TS-Associates: TS-Associates is a leading supplier of precision instrumentation solutions for latency sensitive trading systems.
